Roger & Bridget, May 22nd, 2010

What can I say about Roger.
Other than a co-worker, a hard working man that comes to play every day, a pleasant person to talk to, and a good friend, I don't know!!  So one day, out of the blue, he re-joins the armed forces to protect us and keep us safe here at home.  How brave and courageous is that?  Out he goes for approximate 18 months.  To serve and protect his country he is willing to put his life on hold and do his part.  Put his 2 cents in.  All I can say is Thank You.  Thanks for going out of your way to make this country we call home a great place to live.  Protect out freedom, our life style, our family, and all we know as life.
So here's the scoop:  Got an email from Roger that was titled: "We're getting Married!!!"  I'm thinking:  Cool.  Wait.  Isn't he in .........Irak?.......or somewhere in the Arabian desert?   How does that work?  Who is he marrying?  How did he propose?>>>  Ready for this?  Over the internet.  He had his whole family back at home including his fiancĂ©e.  His brother had the ring, and when Roger proposed in the chat room, his brother presented Bridget with the ring.  How cool is that?  How boring is my life???
So Roger took a 2 week leave to come home and get married.  And here's how it works:  They did the paper thing (no church yet)  and had an awesome party which I had the privilege to photograph.  Now some time in October, after he's done serving our country, they will get married in the church (and I'll shoot that too!!! How cool),and he gets back to work.  Life goes on.  Here are some pics from the party.  More to come on this wedding in October.  See you then.
Can't wait for October!!!!!

Lauren & Seth Wedding, May 15th, 2010

I was first contacted by Lauren's Mother Cherryl.  Believe it or not, out of all investments for marketing, and Google research, and all, she found me on Craigslist!!!  Imagine that!!!   That's besides the point.  She found me and we had our first (and only) meeting at Starbucks.  Had a coffee, 35 to 40 minutes of great conversation and I had just made some new friends.  What a great bunch of people!!!!
At first sight, I'm thinking "She's so young".  They're so young!!!  But as time went by, and I got to talk to them more frequently, and got to know them, I thought this marriage will last forever.  Lauren is so sweet, and humble.  I'm so glad I got to meet them and photograph their wedding.
We shot the bridal pictures at the Chinese Garden, and the last time I had been there, there was access to every part of the park, so when I called her and we agreed to shoot there, I told her that she didn't have to be dressed with the gown.  She could get ready there at any of the parks restrooms.  So the day comes and I get there before she does, and what a surprise:  Renovation!!!   What in the world now?  So I called her right away, but she was already by the park after a 45 minute car ride.  So here's what happened:  She changed in the parking lot!!  I couldn't believe it.  And it was all my fault.  But she was so understanding, and really really not worried about it.  We figured we get all the glitches out of the way early.
That day it felt like 140 degrees, and that dress weight about 20 lbs.  Poor thing!
There was quite a few people there taking pictures.  2 or 3 other brides, some graduation pictures, sweet sixteen and all else you can imagine was happening that day.  It took us about 2.5 hours before we finished.
The wedding was in Castroville, TX.  I had never been there, but heard about it.  The resort was just perfect for the event.  Everything was set up so perfect, just like the book says.
Turns out, everything went perfect.  The 3 or 4 days before it rained all day, and we're just getting ready for a rainy day which means protect all the gear!!!  Not cool!!!  But guess what:  No rain!  The sun was out, and it was perfect.  Everything was perfect, and the pictures that they will treasure forever are also perfect.  I am so happy.  They panned it all for so long and they deserved a beautiful day.  They got it!!!  Here are some of the pictures but if you want to see them all, go to http://jottaphoto.com and click on wedding: Lauren and Seth.

Sunset Station

Hello again!
These are some samples of engagement pictures taken at a train track downtown San Antonio, TX.  Train tracks are one of the most popular request by couples for engagement pictures,  so here by request, are some pictures that give you a bit of an idea what they're like.
This is my daughter Bianca, and her Boston Boyfriend Johnny!  Again, these were taken in the spur of the moment, so don't judge me based on these.  They are cool though.

These were taken at the "Sunset Station" in downtown San Antonio, TX.
